Every autumn, the worldwide sim racing world turns its eyes to Germany. The annual ADAC SimRacing Expo at Messe Dortmund is the biggest live racing simulation gathering on earth. Pro esports drivers, hardware builders, motion rig engineers, and everyday sim racers gather in giant expo halls to see the newest gear pushed to its absolute limits.
This year, Pimax is making its presence felt in a huge way. The company is taking over the Dortmund show floor with professional-grade motion simulator cockpits, inviting drivers to jump into the driver's seat and experience ultra-high-resolution VR firsthand. Even better for our readers: Pimax has partnered with Sim Racing Nation to give expo attendees and our online audience an exclusive 10% discount on Pimax products using partner code SRN.
Whether you are walking the show floor at Messe Dortmund or tuning in from your home rig, here is everything you need to know about Pimax's lineup at the expo and how you can save up to several hundred dollars on your next headset.
Live Motion Rig Demos at Messe Dortmund
Testing a VR headset on a desktop table is one thing. Testing it strapped into a 4-actuator D-BOX or Simucube motion rig while braking into the first chicane at Monza at 180 MPH is something completely different.
At the Pimax booth in Dortmund, expo visitors can slide into real aluminum simulator chassis to run competitive hotlaps in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and Le Mans Ultimate. The showcase gives drivers a direct look at how Pimax hardware handles real sim racing stresses:
- Pimax Crystal Light: The dedicated sim racing king. Running 2880×2880 pixels per eye with pure glass aspheric lenses and direct DisplayPort video, the Crystal Light proves why pure uncompressed PCVR makes spotting distant braking markers effortless. With zero onboard battery weight, drivers can race for hours without neck strain.
- Pimax Crystal Super: The 29.5-million-pixel flagship. Visitors can inspect both the QLED Mini-LED engine and the new 8K Sony Micro-OLED cartridge side by side. Its 130-degree horizontal field of view lets you spot competitors right at your side door mirrors without turning your head.
- Pimax Dream Air & Dream Air SE: The sub-140-gram featherweight class. For sim racers who hate bulky hardware, the Dream Air shows how Micro-OLED optics and a slim profile deliver deep night racing blacks with almost zero physical footprint.
- Pimax 60G AirLink Kit: Wireless PCVR on a motion rig. The uncompressed 60GHz mmWave link demonstrates zero-latency telemetry on aggressive yaw motion simulators without worrying about snagging or pulling a tether cable.
- Pimax DMAS 2.0 Off-Ear Audio: Floating Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) speakers that deliver true 3D spatial engine audio without pressing hot foam against your ears in a crowded expo hall.
